Salam Masjid is a mosque in a heritage building on Burrows Avenue, in Winnipeg's North End. Founded by the Central Canada Islamic Foundation, it serves Muslims across Winnipeg and Central Canada and is the Tableeghi Markaz of Manitoba.

About the masjid
A source of guidance and knowledge for Winnipeg
We serve local Muslims and Muslims across Central Canada.
Salam Masjid · 294 Burrows Avenue
Salam Masjid strives to be a vibrant source of guidance and knowledge for our community in Winnipeg. We have established a diverse array of programs, activities and classes according to the Quran and the Sunnah of our Prophet Mohammad (PBUH). We work towards implementing the teachings of the Quran and Sunnah, as practised by the Sahabah, with the advice of the Ulema (scholars), and we endeavour to be a catalyst for positive change in our community through unity, education and action.
The Central Canada Islamic Foundation (CCIF), a non-profit organization, purchased the building, and the masjid began operating in January 2016 after a renovation. The 18,000 sq ft heritage building at 294 Burrows Avenue is more than 130 years old, and we keep renovating and upgrading it with the help of our community.
Salam Masjid is also the Tableeghi Markaz of Manitoba. We host Jamaats from across the globe and want Muslims from all walks of life to be part of the masjid every day. Our managing committee is made up entirely of volunteers.

Life at the masjid
Daily prayers, classes for children, weekly gatherings and the work of the Markaz, all according to the Quran and Sunnah.

Congregational Friday prayer, with the khutbah in English and Arabic.
During Ramadan
Taraweeh and Khatm e Quran
20 rakat Taraweeh every night, with a complete recitation of the Quran over the month.
Weekday evenings
Madrasah (Maktab)
Quran nazra with tajweed and basic Islamic teaching. Boys and girls learn in separate classes with male and female teachers.
Daily and weekly
Da'wah and Taleem
Taleem for brothers every day, and Da'wah every week.
Sundays
Sisters' Taleem
A weekly Taleem gathering for sisters, held at a local sister's house. Email us to be added to the WhatsApp group.

A weekly program with a speech, followed by dinner.

Mashwera
The weekly mashwera (consultation).

The year ahead
Expected dates from the Umm al-Qura calendar. Ramadan and the Eids begin with the sighting of the moon, so the masjid announces the final dates closer to the time.
